Presenting Mr and Mrs J. Lee Buffington

This weekend we went to Fairhope to see some friends get married. We stayed at the Grand Hotel which was fabulous as always. Moseley spent the night with his Mia.

Miss Lee Bancroft Engwall married Mr Jerry Lee Buffington (aka Lee and Lee)

It was almost a 2nd honeymoon for us b/c it was such a treat to have a night out alone. Plus we spent it with friends and basically family.

What we have...

We had the best Christmas. It was so great to spend so much time with family. I loved every minute of it. From the fire pit, to Egg Nog with spiced rum, a failed attempt at a ginger bread house (deemed 9th Ward worthy) to a vater and buble fight with Bancroft. Truly a great Christmas.

Another aspect and a less important one of Christmas are the presents. We did however, make out like bandits.

Kevin got some nice shirts, ties, pjs, golf shoes, a hugger, RTJ golf passport, and more...

Jess got a beautiful nightgown, china, money, slippers, bluetooth earbud, bigger memory card for her camera. A purse, some cool luggage, and even more...

Moseley got a radio flyer wagon, little people noah's ark, tons of books and tub toys. A padington bear and 2 picture frames. Laugh and Learn Funhouse, wooden musical instruments, and Tervis Tumbler sippy cups. He also got some gorgeous smocked clothes and cute robeez and so much more...

So this is christmas... Part 1

Ok, so here is how our 5 days in Mobile were spent.

Friday: Moseley and I arrived at 2:30p at which point my Momma watched Mose while I ran a few errands. At 6pm Kit and Buck Hamilton had a Christmas party for one side of our family. Santa was there and gave Moseley a gift.

Saturday: Moseley, Momma and I met Nancy, Staples, Mary Helen and Kevin at the Dew Drop for lunch. It was delicious! Then we went to Big Norm and GrandVic's house to hang out. Moseley had fun giving them lots of hugs. This night there was a Santa party at my momma and aunts house. Moseley cried on santa's lap but cheered up when Santa gave him a present.

Sunday: We went to Church with my grandmom and afterward had lunch with her and my Aunt Bernice. Then, we went over to the Eastern Shore Center for some last minute gifts. Kevin and I went on a date this night to see Sweeney Todd - it was very good and the buttered popcorn was perfect.

Monday: Momma and I took Mose to the Taylor's house (Seven Gables) in Montrose to drop off their gifts. Then to Baybo's house in Fairhope. That night me Kevin and Mose went to Aunt Lullie's for the Barney's Christmas Party. Very Fun. Then, Staples, Nancy, Me, Kevin, Moseley, Momma, Ellen, Bancroft and Jimbo all met up at my family's house to celebrate Christmas eve.

So many teeth, so little time.

Moseley has about 5 teeth that have broken through the surface of his gums all at the same time. Most of these are molars b/c he has 8 teeth already.

What does this mean for you? Nothing but a pretty smile.

What does this mean for me? A baby who follows me around sobbing b/c I can't hold him all the time.

Poor baby!

Our first shiner

Today, Moseley had his first fall. He was standing up holding on to a chair with one arm and let go. He bashed his cheek into the chair leaving a bruise and some inflammation the size of a nickel. I feel so lucky to have made it this far (12.5 mo) without a significant injury... I know there is more of this to come though :) I will try and get a pic of it later.

Ella Kate is here!

Ella Katherine Pullen was born December 10, weighing 7 lbs 11 oz.

It's Official

We are moving to Ross Bridge! We have a reservation on lot xxx and on a Heathrow B house plan (see pic below). We have also decided that even if our house doesn't sell we will move and just rent it out. The market is so bad right now we may not get what it is worth. I am so excited. We will be in this house for a very long time and it has such a great atmosphere. If you are looking for a house, go to Ross Bridge, they have a house for everyone and are so nice and helpful. We have a million questions and they were so great about them all.

Baby Got Elfed!

Anna Elfed our babies today. Click here to see! From left, Moseley, James, Jimmy, and Laine shaking what there momma's gave them :)

Moseley's Stocking

Today, Daddy and Victoria came to Montgomery to visit us. We had a lot of fun and they brought Moseley a present. Victoria needlepointed him a gorgeous stocking. It took her about 300-400 hours to work this masterpiece. It has beading and intricate stitching and different textures. It's just amazing. Just a couple of examples; the holly berries are beaded, the nutcrackers beard is fuzzy, and his crown is beaded. It is truly beautiful. One day, Moseley will be able to appreciate the love this gift was made with.

We went on down to the Birmingham Zoo and they all asked for you...

Yesterday, Katie and I took our sweet little boys to the zoo in Birmingham. James and Catherine met us there and we took the boys to a sign language class. We then at lunch at La Paz in Crestline and took a gander at Ross Bridge. We had a blast up until the drive home. Both boys were tired and tired of being in the car.

A lesson on Advent

What is Advent?
Advent is derived from the latin word for "coming." Advent is the season before Christmas during which Christians anticipate the coming of the savior.

Tonight after church we made an advent wreath. It was so fun and Moseley was great in the nursery even though he didn't get to bed until 7pm!

Happy Birthday to Mose!

Today is Moseley Bancroft Garrison's very first birthday. He is ONE year old, this very day! It seems very hard to believe that he was born this day last year, at 12:19p, weighing a mere 8 lb, 13 oz. Oh, what I would give to pick up an 8lb baby again. Yet, I am so thankful for him and his health. He has been such an Angel this past year. The Lord has blessed my family so far and above any expectations. Below are some pics of the birthday boy lounging and drinking his "milk."

Moseley's newest trick is to say "aaahhh" on command. Such a smart boy.

He loves his milk, he can sign now telling us when he wants some.

So happy!

We are Healed!

All is well in the Garrison household. Apparently, we caught what the Litton's had last month.

Clarification: We caught the same thing the the Litton's had, they did not actually pass on this awful disease to us. Thanks Allison :)

I feel sick. Awful, awful, sick

It's contagious! It's an epidemic!

So, Moseley has had $%*^# (cha cha cha) for a few days now. No other symptoms, just a leaky diaper.

Then, last night, John (Kevin's bro) got sick, really sick. And he has to fly home today.

Then, this morning I got sick, really, really sick.

Then, Moseley threw up on the kitchen floor. Projectile *%$*$-ing and all the while smiling and playing. He apparently didn't feel bad. I however felt like death for the 3 hour drive home.

And now, as a grand finale, Kevin is sick... very, very sick.

It's gross and we have no washer. Have pity on us. Come take care of us.

On the advice of counsel (my mother) this entry has been edited.

NMH

Not much is going on around here. This week has been filled with unpacking and sorting laundry and the beginning's of repacking for Thanksgiving in Decatur. Caroline and Steven are coming in from Little Rock Saturday. I am super excited. We have a babysitter so that we and the Tucks can take them out on the town. Let's hope Montgomery is all they dreamed it would be.

Moseley's Birthday: take two

Moseley had a second birthday party in Mobile for our family. About 30 people were there. He got a lot of cool stuff including board books, a ride-on Thomas the Tank Engine, a lion, a jungle pod, and blocks. He is a lucky boy! He also got a mint chocolate cake from the Pastry Shop, now that's lucky!

His cake, it was huge, we had a ton left over.

I am trying something new today...

Ok, since the holidays are coming up I decided I would try my hand at "winning things." I do have laudry to sort, maybe my time would be better served doing that? Ok, so 10 min a day will go to winning stuff. It will be an experiment. Do all those sites that give away free stuff work? Let's see...

Moseley's Birthday: take one

Today, we had Moseley's Birmingham friends over for a pre-party celebration. I couldn't very well ask them to come to Mobile for a party. Anna, Jimmy, Catherine, James, Allison, and Laine came from Birmingham. Katie, my friend who lives here, came too. We ate lunch and let the babies play. It was really fun and Moseley racked up with the following toys:
  • 80 piece MegaBloks
  • Little Tikes Handiworker Workhorse
  • 3 Tonka Trucks and a cool 4-square ball
  • An Oinking Pig bowl that is activated when you use the special spoon
We have such great friends and more importantly a great network of babies. I will post pictures as soon as I get them from someone else (battery problems).

I made cupcakes and spelled out "Happy Bday Moseley" in icing. Cheesy, I know.

So Sad

Kevin and I have decided we are going to sell our house in Birmingham. It's sad b/c we love that house, it has tons of charm and was pretty big for just the two of us. Also, we lived there 3 years so it is comfortable for us. On the flip side, since Moseley has arrived, we have become different people. We live for him. We want him and his future siblings to be happy and have lots of family visiting them. We are fast running out of room in the Southside house. Also, because none of our family lives nearby, we HAVE to have a guestroom. A guestbath would be nice too. Also, a lot of our back yard is a parking pad. I don't want Kevin to pull in one day to park and hit Moseley. So, we are exploring our options. We can't really do anything until we know the house will sell. Please say some prayers for us that we find a buyer for our house that will love it as much as we do.

**If you know of anyone in need of a 3bed/2bath house in the five points neighborhood, please let me know! It has all hardwoods, crown moulding, ceramic tile in baths and sunporch, storage shed, unfin. basement, attic, new heater and a/c, all appliances stay (incl. wash/dry). Asking $179,900

Happy Halloween!

Yesterday, Moseley went to school and wore his pumpkin bib. He looked so cute. He always has so much fun at school with his teacher, Miss Lyn.

Last night we cheated. We didn't trick or treat (and no trick or treaters came knocking) so Kevin and I put Mose to bed and enjoyed a quiet evening together. Plus, I had been sick and wasn't up to partying. We did, however, take some cute pictures of Moseley in his costume. Holy cow! Hopefully, he won't be picky next year and can wear this costume again!

The Leaky Cauldron

The Leaky Cauldron: otherwise known as Moseley. Moseley's nose has been running a little since it got cold. Sunday night though we put him to bed and at about 11p he woke up all stuffed up and coughing. He just couldn't breathe. Since he has a paci in the bed, he couldn't suck on it and breathe. He eventually went back to sleep after sitting up for a little bit.

I took his temperature and he didn't have one so I didn't give him any medicine. I also let him go to MDO ysterday since their policy is "no temperature." Plus, he doesn't seem to feel bad. He did fine but when he got home from MDO he wouldn't nap b/c he was getting backed up when laying down. So I did what every momma would, I held him and he went to sleep. It was so sweet, I hadn't held him sleeping for months. He only slept for a half an hour and then played the rest of the afternoon. By 6p he was exhausted and could barely keep his eyes open. We put him down then and it took him a few minutes to fall asleep. He slept all night but we could hear him coughing and sputtering. This morning he seems to be the same, happy but congested. I stuck him in a steamy hot shower to try and clear his throat and we tried saline drops and a bulb syringe for his nose. We'll see if he takes a nap this morning :)

A very busy weekend!

We went to Decatur to visit Kevin's parents and to host a shower for Moseley's god-sister. Friday night we got into Decatur about 10p at which point Moseley woke up and decided he would play with his Nonna and Granddad a bit. He played until about midnight. Then we decided he should go to sleep.

Saturday, while I hosted a baby shower for Allison Pullen, Aunt Sandra and our cousin Kasey came over to play with Moseley. Kasey is pregnant and due in March. KASEY AND PHILLIP ARE HAVING A BOY!!!

Saturday after the shower, Tabbi came over from Huntsville to visit us (Moseley mainly). We then all had steak and potatoes for dinner, yum!

Sunday, we headed to the Schiller Farm in Clanton for James first birthday! He's not sure what to think about everyone singing at him! It was a great party, Moseley had fun playing with the other babies.
