Sweet Moseley

We went to Birmingham yesterday and today to "stage" our house that is for sale. Moseley has a nursery there with toys and everything but doesn't like taking naps there. I think he thinks it it someone else's room. So, although he slept fine last night, today when we got back to Montgomery he was exhausted. He didn't even hear us come in to wake him up. We couldn't resist taking some pictures of his sweet sleeping self.

Have you seen Moseley's Shoes?

We have lost a pair of nearly new navy Ked's size 6 (childrens). I Wish I could blame this on someone else but I am pretty sure I am responsible :) If you see them, please let me know, they are the only shoes Moseley has to wear if it's raining...

Over and Above the Call of Duty

I just want to thank my wonderful husband for picking up the slack when I am sick.

I have been sick so often this year and have an awful sinus infection as we speak. He came home from work today (and yesterday) for lunch to watch Moseley so I could rest. Plus, he did the sink full of dishes too.

If you see him, give him a hug (or a pat on the back if that's your style). He is such a sweetheart!

Ella Kate's Dress

I made a dress for Ella Kate a few weekends ago. It has two detachable/exchangeable collars (a white one and a blue one) so that it works as three different dresses.

A future in cabaret?

Moseley wanted to put these socks of Kevin's on... he kept pulling them up farther... he is too funny!

Wonderful, Wonderful Camp McDowell!

We went to Camp McDowell this past weekend for a Mother Daughter retreat. The theme was "Playing and Praying in God's Backyard." We had so much fun and hope we can make it an annual event!

The bracelets we made

Our first hike: to the Cross

Crossing the rope bridge of death on our hike

We made it across alive!

It is hard to see but off in the distance is where the cross is that we hiked to.

Murray Manor, our cabin. Also termed "Murder Manor"! The banner was one we made for the chapel processional on sunday. Doesn't Momma look cute in her Citizen's jeans? I think so!

Our home construction is under way! You can see that our street already has a ton of houses on it. In fact, our street should e full by the time we are in!

Happy Birthday Sister!

Miss Lily Louise Tuck (affectionately known as sister) was born at 8:32am today. I am so excited as I know Katie and Andy are as well. Welcome to the world baby girl!

She is a teensy thing weighing 6.4lbs, and measuring 19.5"

Our weekend with Aunt Alli, Uncle Richard, and Uncle Correia

Besides Moseley getting sick, we had a great weekend in Atlanta. Allison and I took the children shopping and the boys went to the Atlanta Film Festival. I couldn't believe how big Ella Kate is, she is such a good baby.

A little Mose Video

Here is my best attempt to get Moseley to perform for my computer webcam :)

By the way, he keeps saying "bay-bee, bay-bee" b/c he sees himself on the screen and he is saying that's a "baby." At the end look out for him barking like a dog at the dinosaurs. We have a LOT of work to do!

Another quote from the Kev-meister

As I was blogging on the computer...

Kevin: Hey honey, can you pull up a map of Ancient Persia for me?

Jess: You probably want to take care of that yourself...

My, wasn't life awful--and wonderful.

I just watched the movie version or Thornton Wilder's Our Town. It was the best and worst thing I have ever seen. Mr Wilder was way beyond his time.

I think everyone should go out and watch (or better yet, read) this play. Then, maybe we will appreciate life as it stands before us, a little more.

Blessed am I

You know, last night I was weepy. Not sure why, but maybe b/c I had a great weekend and hated to see it over :( So as I was telling Kevin all my stresses I realized outlook is half the battle. You can quote me on that. Although I could dwell on the fact that we have one apartment we are living that is teeny, and a house in Birmingham that we are trying to sell from 100 miles away, I really have it good. No, I have it great. At least we have the means to have housing. Multiple housing tho' it be. Anywho, I am resolving from this day forward to count my blessings (literally) 3 times a day. Morning, noon, and night.

On another note, one of the songs sung to Moseley this weekend:
Little Willie dressed in sashes
Fell in the fire and burned to ashes
After a while the room got chilly
but no one dared stir up Willie

Little Willie hung his sister,
She was dead before we missed her.
"Willie's always up to tricks!
Ain't he cute? He's only six!"

*there are a ton of disturbing lyrics to this tune

Prayer Request

Please say a prayer for my friend as she and her family gather the courage to fight a serious illness that has struck their family.

Thank you.

...And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
Matthew 7:25

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels

Katie and I took Sam and Moseley to the park on Thursday. Within the first few minutes, Mose had already stepped (sandals on) deep into mud. Then, he fell off the merry-go-round and covered his left side in wet dirt. Needless to say, he had a blast! He and Sam blew bubbles and ate cheerios.

Sam refused to give u the bubbles. The top was off so he had bubble sol'n all over him.

Moseley LOVES to slide. In fact, I have to watch him carefully b/c he heads to the slide, climbs up and hurtles himself down it, without a care in the world! It's hilarious but a tad scary to me that he is that fearless.

Sharing bubbles and bubble-soaked cheerios.

John John

This is a John-John I made for a friends little boy (Jill if you read this,I hope Bradley likes it). I am just getting into mixing and matching colors, textures, etc to make designs I like. I have in my head that a monogram would look perfect in the middle of the yellow stripe.

The stripe is inset with a scalloped border.
